Skin Whitening vs Skin Lightening

I just want to share a very surprising discovery about the difference between A) Skin Whitening and B) Skin Brightening.
We often see the claim "brighten skin tone" instead of "whiten skin" in South Korea; indeed, Etude, Missa, Sulwhasoo, and other high-end cosmetics use the former label.

Why do an MLM (network marketing company) shift?

Yet another MLM?

I don't think so. I have attended 4 MLM orientations, which I wouldn't name, and I found their marketing plans unsustainable and difficult in the long term.
You might be earning now. But it's because your spending is bigger than your paycheck!

This took me a year to decide, and I can guaranete you this is not just another network marketing scheme.

People who don't change decisions are people who don't think.

The question is: Why would you want to become a member in another MLM?

1. Your life has become totally MLMed. You train leaders and you equip them for reqruitment. Most of your time has been eaten by your MLM and its promise for luxury cars, mansions, and huge earthly incentives. 

2. Binary and flushouts - You know you won't earn if left and right leaders do not match.

3. Demotion.

4. Quotas and maintenance.

5. Pressure to recruit people. You see, it's more of 'human trafficking' than product marketing.

6. Huge cashouts. It's difficult to recruit if you're asking for 20k or 12,888 or even 7k in exchange for a bundle of goods.

7. Hidden and undisclosed demands on you--purchase this and that otherwise...; do this and that otherwise...; and the list goes on. Dishonest invitations: "Looking for data encoder", "Do you have time, I like to introduce something"--why not tell it outright?   These MLMs fool people to get into their lair and sweet talk them while being surrounded by dozens of members. Ugh.

Are Multilevel Marketing Companies (MLMs) Scam

Short answer: No. They are legitimate models of earning.

However,

Not everyone can profit from MLMs. Studies show that only the top-level marketers (at most top 5%) receives the material promises that MLMs show upon presentation of their company and products.

A person who is looking for an MLM company has to be wary about hidden pressures, cash-outs, and maintenance fees. For instance, one has to cash out 12,999 in one MLM company in the Philippines, in exchange for a bundle of products that one has to be able to sell in order to get back one's investment. This strategy creates a definite captured market, so to speak, and keeps the company afloat. But one has to look at the amount of initial cash outflow versus the rate of inflow. If one wants to move up the ladder of distributorship (which means higher rebates from products purchased), one has to buy more. And more. And more.

Moreover, most MLMs become a way of life much like religion is. One has to build members in order to recruit more people. Recruitment is most observable in binary MLMs where one has to maintain a "left" and a "right" marketer. In other words, one has to have two people working and meeting quotas, hence, a pair. Those two persons would also have to recruit a few more. And if those recruited do not meet quotas, then there's no pairing.

The moral is, if one stops building leaders or "left" and "right" marketers, one would not earn unless left and right matches/reaches the quota. Even if "left" reaches a million dollar sales, if it does not pair with the "right", then basically earning amounts to zero.

These things I have learned from friends who had bad experiences with MLMs; they were pressured to:
1. pay huge distributor fees and maintenance purchases,
2. invest time and effort training "left" and "right" marketers
3. meet quotas 
4 recruit people

The next question would be: Are there other MLMs out there where these four things are not part of the core marketing strategy?

Tupperware, Avon, Sophie, and Human Nature are but just a few MLMs that do not milk their members; the distribution of rewards come proportionately from a) recruitment, b) individual sales, c) group sales, and d) incentives and bonuses. If MLM X has a resource of $100, $90 is channeled to recruitment, the other ways of earning are underused and underappreciated. Essentially, to me, MLM X is more of human trafficking, so to speak, rather than product marketing.

Another company, in addition to those legit already mentioned, which is based in New Zealand (production) and Malaysia (financial arm) is G-Health. The only thing that one needs to do in order to become a member is to purchase a product at distributor's price and that's only P1,800.00 ($42.00). There is no quota that one has to reach because there is no status demotion. There are only incentives.

Every product has an equivalent point value. For instance, our flagship product G-Cell (stem cell repair and revitalization) has 144 point value. In order to get 25% of sales rebates, one has to accumulate 2051 points. These will just accumulate overtime; they don't expire. Are Loss and Purpose Reconcilable?

Pointless things happen in this world, and it leads me to think sometimes that there is not Purpose --only the ability to bring together three pillars of sanity, if the self is to survive: faith in His reason, ability of self-consolation and making the best out of what happened, and intense, conscious abhorrence of both. The dominance of the first produces a religious man (profession and exercise of belief); the second results to a typical human being, helplessly trapped in the vagaries of blessings and blight; and the third, the Übermensch.  

In less philosophical terms, I'd just like to say I feel terribly saddened today. My dog has just been ran over by a car. I don't know how the maxim "everything has a purpose" would hold water given the tremendous number of incidences where purpose seems ex-post facto to me, and most oftentimes remain unrevealed till this very moment. To be a 'purpose', it must be a fuel to an end; otherwise, if it exists after the end has been achieved, then it becomes a justification, a mere sour-graping, an unadulterated consolation for a loss or defeat. Yes, I am a believer, and perhaps random stuff that has happened seemingly without reason does not negate His object and purpose. And because of this theistic concession, there is only a thing left to do, something I always do: become a typical human being who is smashed and disoriented everytime in waves of blessings and curse, of happiness and despair, for what can I do and think more? They say that those who cling on exclusively around the third pillar are nihilists and go to hell. Or maybe, those are the brave, new men and women.

The Paradox of the reality of friendship

Friends 'never' leave you. Yet 'never' is but a matter of degrees. At the end of the day, one must still be the Übermensch Nietzsche ever so hallowed and aspired to become. Indeed, he's gone mad. What is there to say? Sanity is also a matter of degrees. Once the Übermensch project is launched, things of transitory utility and vain happiness gain credence. Eclipsed are human sentiments of sharing in pain, rejoicing in someone else's joy, and the enviable emotion that is love. The point? No one ever reaches the Übermensch status. Those who approximate it, however, become needed, indispensable, friendship-worthy, and more importantly, asymmetrically powerful. For one, cutting of relationships becomes not a matter of thought. I, too, will have gone mad before everyone's eyes.

Christmas is in the air!

...and it's generally getting colder especialy past 6pm. My skin is basically oily but my lips are prone to being chappy. Dry and pale lips can turn the whole face unsightly, at least for me, who envies the naturally pink and moist pouts of some people.

I googled the causes of unmoisturized lips and although it isn't new, it is something I didn't practice till recently--water therapy. Hydrating daily with a glass of water every hour, and filling in my tummy with 500ml of h2o in the morning prevent deep creases in my lips from forming. Although i'm quite happy with the regimen, a lipbalm is still a necessity. I found out an extra mentholated all-natural lip balm in Ilog Maria. It has a website where you can purchase products from bees: honey, beeswax, propolis, etc. The texture of the balm is not quite like its chemically-laden counterparts; it's a bit on the softer side so just one swipe on  the upper and lower lips would do the trick. The effect lasts for hours and the tingling menthol sensation for about an hour or so. It's the only balm that I can say is truly cooling. Even the Mint Lipbalm of The Body Shop can't compare.
Yeah, I' wearing it right now just before I hit the sack. For just 70pesos, I won't hesitate to swipe it liberally everytime I feel the urge to.
